Artist’s Note

Elton John is someone I often think of when I sit at the piano. His playing contributed to the way I approached music when I was young, and it still touches me now. Alot of the respect i gained from him early on came from my dad. Listening to Elton makes me feel close to my dad when he was younger as well.

To say his music is “good” doesn’t come close - his music is an experience, something you feel rather than just hear. I think part of that comes from the friendship between Elton and his writer, Bernie Taupin. The partnership they’ve built is incredible in its longevity and depth.

Elton is one of the most deserving icons of his century - he's an incredible performer and a presence whose influence continues to insipire.
