Beyond the Frame…
I drew this piece while reflecting on how rarely the mind moves in straight lines…
Inconvenient, maybe… but also kind of the point.
Thoughts loop, double back, stall, and return to the same origin carrying something slightly different each time. From the outside, this can look like confusion. From the inside, it feels like navigation… just without the benefit of a map.
As I worked on the intricate paths of this drawing, I wasn’t thinking of the maze as a puzzle to be solved, but as a space one is meant to inhabit. A landscape where the act of exploration is more vital than the destination. Every turn shifts the perspective of the next... and even the wrong turns leave something behind, usually discovered when you least expect it.
There isn’t always a clear exit... and maybe that isn’t a failure. Sometimes the point is simply staying with the complexity long enough to stop treating it like something you need to escape.
